1) Discuss what your preliminary exercise will involve – make notes on location, sequence of events, who will act etc
Location: classroom
Who will act: Ashleen and Shaan
Sequence of events: Ashleen walks down the corridor and sits in a chair opposite Shaan and starts interrogating her about where she was at the time of the murder of a young girl
2) Write a short script for the preliminary exercise. Remember, scripts outline movement and shots as well as dialogue
Close-up of Ashleen walking towards the door followed by a long shot and then another close-up as she opens the door and sits in the chair. After she sits down, there is a close-up on Ashleen's legs followed by a close-up of Shaan's legs going up and down to portray her nerves. Then there are over-the-shoulder shots that take place during their conversation and then there's a long shot as the final shot of the video
3) Write a shot list of every possible shot (and a few extra) you will need for this preliminary exercise
